A Second Heart for Forty Children At Care Corner Orphanage, healing goes beyond food and shelter—it takes someone who listens. With 40 children and only one social worker, emotional care has long been stretched thin. We’re sponsoring the hire of a second full-time social worker to provide one-on-one support, lead group counseling, and ensure no child is left behind. Because healing doesn’t happen alone. Together, we can give these children not just safety, but someone who truly sees them.

A Legacy of Love, A Lifetime of Service
Care Corner Orphanage was born in 1995 out of quiet, steadfast faith. Jacinth’s parents, Singaporean missionaries, came to Chiang Mai with a calling—to serve the most vulnerable children of Northern Thailand. What began with 28 children in a humble home has grown into a refuge for dozens of boys and girls who have faced the harshest beginnings: families torn apart by drug abuse, the loss of parents to AIDS, or the threat of being trafficked into a darker world.
Today, Care Corner is more than just a shelter. It is a sanctuary—offering not just food, safety, and schooling, but something far more profound: a place where children are known, guided, and deeply loved.
As her parents approached retirement, their daughter Jacinth, who grew up just next door to the orphanage, stepped in to support them—at first temporarily. But what was meant to be a helping hand soon became a lifelong calling. No one else seemed quite right to take over, and deep down, Jacinth knew why: she was already home.
Now leading the orphanage full-time, Jacinth brings a rare combination of compassion, conviction, and firsthand experience. Her mission carries forward her parents’ founding vision: to raise children in a nurturing, faith-rooted environment where they are equipped not just for survival—but for lives of purpose, dignity, and grace.
[Date] – Milestone 1: Social Worker Hired
We’re thrilled to share that, as of [Month, Year], Care Corner has welcomed a new full-time social worker to the team. With this addition, each child now receives more focused attention, and the staff is better equipped to manage emotional support cases.
[Date] – Milestone 2: One-on-One Support Expanded
Since onboarding, the social worker has conducted [XX] individualized emotional care sessions—many focused on grief, anger management, and building trust. Several children who had previously withdrawn from group life are now actively participating in daily routines.
[Date] – Milestone 3: Group Workshops Launched
In [Month], we launched a series of therapeutic group workshops addressing topics such as healthy relationships, emotional regulation, and peer conflict resolution. So far, [XX] workshops have been held, each tailored to age-specific needs.
[Date] – Milestone 4: Staff Training Session Completed
In addition to working directly with children, the social worker has also led [X] staff training workshops to build internal capacity around trauma-informed care and early intervention practices.
After 30 years of sheltering and shaping young lives, Care Corner’s walls are starting to show their age. The orphanage is in the middle of a much-needed dormitory reconstruction project designed to give the children the safe, healthy, and dignified living space they deserve.
The development plan is divided into 8 stages—but funding has only been secured through Stage 4. Without additional support, construction will pause indefinitely. This means 16 boys will remain crowded into a single room with one shared bathroom—conditions that compromise their health, privacy, and emotional well-being.
You can change that.
Your support will help:
Continue dormitory reconstruction so the children have proper rooms, clean bathrooms, and enough space to simply be children.
Replace old, worn-out furniture in both the boys' and girls' dormitories—beds, desks, and storage that give every child a sense of ownership and comfort.
Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to a safe, nurturing home where these children can grow and heal.
